Based in Encinitas, CA, we work closely with our artists to create music that is both unique and relevant. Our mission is to honor the legacy of American songwriting while fostering new voices that capture the essence of heartfelt, authentic music.

While American Windsong Music focuses on recording and distributing music, we are proudly affiliated with Desert Windsong Publishing who specializes in publishing music and print works for a select group of writers and artists.

Since 1981, Desert Windsong Publishing has been committed to developing high-quality, commercially viable material. The publishing company works directly with artists to place their works in film, television, commercials, and other media opportunities, ensuring they have access to revenue-generating platforms that benefit both the artist and publisher.

About John Hildebrand

Founder, Engineer, Producer, and Educator

John Hildebrand is the visionary behind American Windsong Music and Desert Windsong Publishing. With a career spanning over four decades, he is a highly respected engineer, producer, musician, educator, and studio consultant. His expertise extends across music and print publishing, and he is a proud member of the Audio Engineering Society (AES).
